Morning is Impossible

It's dark out, and bright,
all contrasts and metaphors.

This city is a blank blue screen,
and I'm projecting.

Absolutely nothing in the world is real
right now.
Still, I lock the door
and turn off the computer for night
(to conserve electricity).

I plan novels and screenplays.
I rehearse love affairs and job interviews.
I visualize tomorrow's lunch.

Morning is impossible.
Tomorrow is impossible.
But it happens anyway,
like in a movie.

I'll try to act surprised.

  1. Absolutely beautiful.

I rehearse love affairs and job interviews. -- Love the juxtaposition of the transcendance of love and the banality of job interviews, both something we plan out in our heads like we're practicing.

This city is a blank blue screen, / and I'm projecting. This. Beautiful. Yes.
